Apr. 11th, 2010 02:08 pmLet's talk about what we read on the internet!
In general, I will subscribe to the RSS feed of a website/blog/whatever if 50% or more of its content appeals to me. If 55% (or so) of its content pisses me the hell off, or is stupid, or fails in ways that I find too stressful, I don't bother following the feed -- instead, I just read the posts when they're linked from places I trust. I have 70-something feeds, I think; most of them I read using the amazing Google Reader, but some I am subscribed to through LJ/Dth accounts.
Recently, I unsubscribed a bunch of feeds (like three or four this week alone!) because I found myself just clicking "Mark all as read" instead of actually reading the stuff that was being posted. Well, that and one of them had originally been a radical feminist blog but had turned into a chronicle of its author's diet -- no thanks!
Feeds I never skip, or Feeds that are more than 90% content that always interests me without pissing me off:
So how about you guys? What are you reading? What do you recommend others read?

Feeds I never skip, or Feeds that are more than 90% content that always interests me without pissing me off:
- Asking the Wrong Questions by Abigail Nussbaum (mostly focused on science fiction/fantasy media)
- Casaubon's Book by Sharon Astyk (peak oil/sustainability)
- Fatshionista (the blog, not the lj community)
- FWD/Forward (the disabled feminists blog)
- Kate Harding's Shapely Prose (feminism and fat activism)
- The Fat Nutritionist (fat activism, health at every size)
- I am Maru (pictures and videos of Maru the cat!)
So how about you guys? What are you reading? What do you recommend others read?
