Still not sure if I'm aiming for prose, comics or cartoons at this point, but this seems like universally usefuly advice. Thanks for taking the time to pull it all together into one place!

I have found that, yes, "Don't be an idiot" works in pretty much every situation! As does "Mind your manners" and "Use your sense!" Hee. Good luck with whatever you aim at. :)
