You guys, I am in New Jersey with totally spotty internet! It is up right now, so I am uploading these two days of the TV show meme. But I'll be back in NYC tomorrow afternoon, with decent pizza and my cats. It's so weird to be in the house of people who don't have pets.

Day 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show

Okay, so... when a show pisses me off and has terrible episodes on a regular basis, I just drop it. Usually I don't drop shows because I hate one specific episode, though. Either plot arcs bore me or I get super irritated with stuff that happens off-screen -- like, for example, with Criminal Minds ditching two female characters, or Stargate Atlantis being just. so. awful. all the time. (Or this season of Top Chef, which has the most unlikeable cheftestants of any season!!)

The last show I stopped watching because of a specific episode, though, is Supernatural. I actually quit watching it at the end of the second season, because (a) the racism and sexism/miso was out of freaking control, and (b) it was seriously boring the crap out of me with how predictable it was, and then I heard that the fourth season was going to be amazing, so I watched the third season to catch up. I should have known when I saw the first episode of the fourth season and totally called what was going on in, like, the first five minutes that nothing was going to change.

But I stuck with it, and wow. Did I ever regret it. For a multitude of reasons -- every single episode offended me in one way or another. But the episode in which Castiel literally steps on Ruby was pretty much my breaking point -- but I wanted to finish out the season. And then came the episode with the whore of Babylon. WOW. I shouldn't have bothered. This show is pretty much the gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe. Or maybe it's the toilet paper that gets stuck to the gum that is stuck to the bottom of my shoe.

There is pretty much nothing that would be able to convince me to watch this show ever again -- short of someone paying me a lot of money. For two million dollars, I'd watch an episode of season six, but not for any less than that.

Moving on!

Day 08 - A show everyone should watch

I think a show everyone should watch is Mythbusters. It is super interesting, clever, and family-friendly. I had the wonderful experience of putting on a Mythbusters marathon in a room with four generations of family Christmas Day 2009, and every single person watched bits and pieces and found things to talk about. And it happily diverted every single person from talking about the news, politics, religion, and sports. (Except for when they ran the episode about baseball, but that wasn't as painful as watching ESPN all day would have been! Funnily enough, no one wanted to talk to me about curling!)

Anyway, yeah, I think everyone should be watching Mythbusters.
