Makes me kind of glad I'm in sf which doesn't do formal pitches. I'd probably have choked on 'em back in the day.

I once took pitch at a World Horror Con. Everyone was very nice, but very confused -- not one of them had any clue how to do a pitch session. Whereas RWA has it down to a fine art.

Personally, I prefer the approach Writers Weekend took during its first year: a table n the shade with a bottle of scotch. Hee.
