I once took pitch at a World Horror Con. Everyone was very nice, but very confused -- not one of them had any clue how to do a pitch session. Whereas RWA has it down to a fine art.
Personally, I prefer the approach Writers Weekend took during its first year: a table n the shade with a bottle of scotch. Hee.
